Junior Registration Information

​General Information
The Gosnells Hawks Baseball Club's player pathway is Machine Pitch (7-10), Little League Minors Player Pitch (8-11), Little League Majors (9-12), Intermediate League (11-13), Junior League (13-14), Senior League (15-16), Big League (15-18) and Senior Baseball.
​
Registrations are held towards the end of July / early August of each year. The regular season begins in early October of the current calendar year and finishes late February the following year. Playoffs for all grades are in March.

Active parent involvement and participation in the game is highly supported by the club. The Junior Section is always looking for volunteers, coaches and committee members. If you wish to volunteer your services please don't hesitate to let us know.


State Championships for Minor League Machine Pitch and Little League and Junior League is held in April each year. (See information at bottom of page)

Machine Pitch - 7 to 10 year old (refer age chart above)
What is Machine Pitch - LINK
  • ​Generally played on Friday nights - to be confirmed each season depending on number of teams.
  • 1 hour games
  • 1 hour training once a week. Training day is determined by the availability of the coach.
  • Little League Minors Machine Pitch State championship team - Extra cost to players. Cost to be advised at time of tryouts.

Little League Minors (Player Pitch): 8 - 11 years old (refer age chart above)
  • Must be 8, 9, 10, and 11 years old (refer age chart above)
  • Schedule: Monday 5:00pm games (1 1/2 hour games)
  • Training once a week. Generally Monday unless specifically requesting another day.
  • League Age 9-11 May fill-in for the Little League team if players are needed.

Little League - Major League - Under 13
  • Must be 9, 10, 11 and 12 years old (refer age chart above)
  • Schedule: Saturday 10:00 am (1 1/2 hour games)
  • Training twice a week. Generally Monday and Wednesdays unless specifically requesting another day.
  • League Age 12 May fill-in for the Junior League team if players are needed.

Intermediate League (register under Junior League)
  • Must be 13 years old (refer age chart above)
  • 11-12 year old can also play as a second game if there is available space
  • Schedule: Saturday 12:30 pm (2 hours)
  • 12 year old's May fill-in for the Junior League team if players are needed.

Junior League - Under 15
  • Must be 13 and 14 years old (refer age chart above)
  • Schedule: Saturday 3:30 pm (2 hours)
  • May fill-in for Senior League if players are needed.

Senior League - Under 17
  • Must be 15 and 16 years old (refer age chart above)
  • Schedule: 12:30 pm (2 hours)
  • May fill-in for the Big League team if players are needed.

Big League - Under 21
  • Must be 17,18, 19 & 20 years old, League Age (refer age chart above)
  • Schedule: Early Morning Games, time to be announced. (2 hours)
  • League age 16+ year olds may also play for Senior (Adult) baseball. Extra fees for seniors will be requested. Cost TBA each season. If you wish to also play in Seniors, please let the registrar know at the time of registration.​
State Championships Tryouts - Charter Teams
  • All Star Team - Little League (Major) Division - Any player League Age 10, 11, or 12, with amateur status, who has participated as an eligible player in 60 percent (60%) of their regular season games in a Little League (Major) Division team.
  • Intermediate League All Star Team - League Age 11-13 year old with amateur status, who has participated as an eligible player in 60 percent (60%) of the regular season games in a Little League or Intermediate League team.
  • Junior League All Star Team - League Age 13 -14 year old with amateur status, who has participated as an eligible player in 60 percent (60%) of the regular season games in a Junior League team or Senior League team.
  • Senior League All Star Team - League Age 13-16 with amateur status, who has participated as an eligible player in 60 percent (60%) of the regular season games in a Senior League team or Junior League team.
Junior Baseball Spring Training
Players are to notify the Junior Registrar if they are unable to attend.
  • Players will be advised of the training dates, time and location for spring training.
  • Junior League and Little League players will be allocated teams. Players may play with friends/siblings in appropriate age group.
  • Junior and Little League All Star teams will be chosen by try-outs. If you wish to try-out for All-Stars, please notify the Junior Registrar when you register. A team of 11 players will be chosen for each age group.

Footwear
  • Moulded cleats can be worn by all players.
  • Metal cleats can only be worn by age eligible Junior League players and above.
  • Pitchers cannot wear cleats on the artificial pitching mounds at Gosnells. Be prepared to have other suitable footwear available.
  • Any moulded or metal cleat that has the screw-in design is not permitted to be worn by Little League of Age players.

Club Uniform
Please Note: For uniform on game day, no other colours to be worn except stated below.
  • Cap - $35.00 (caps are fitted)
  • Club undershirt - (Short or long sleeve plain navy blue T-shirt is acceptable) If you choose to wear a compression undershirt they must be navy blue if visible. No pinstripe of any kind can be worn. 
  • Uniform top - provided by the club
  • Batting helmet - Helmets must be NOCSAE compliant. Colour of your own choice.  Preference of Black so it can be used at State Championships.
  • White baseball pants - mandatory for all grades
  • Navy blue belt
  • Navy blue socks

  • Protective cup - mandatory for all male players
  • Mouth guard - optional

A deposit of 50% is required at registration. 
  • The 50% deposit covers fees to Baseball WA that must be paid by the club for any player who has played one or more games.
  • The deposit must be paid before a player can take to the diamond to play a game.
  • Payments made via instalments are to be finalized by the third game of the season.
  • Fees are non-refundable once the season starts.
  • Girls are eligible to play in any division within their age group.​​
FEE STRUCTURE:
  • Players must pay the fee for the main team they sign up to. 
  • No fee is charged to play in a second team.
  • Tee-Ball Clubs who wish to register a Machine Pitch Team is to contact the Junior President at gosnells.hawks@gmail.com before registering players.

Any player registering to also play open baseball (Seniors 16+) in the Senior Section MAY also have to pay fees to the Senior Section. This will be charged by the Junior Division and collected then paid to the Senior Division if required.

Birth Certificate(s) or Passport (photocopy) must be shown for first time registrations with the club.

You cannot register without a deposit. Fees can be paid cash, direct deposit or eftpos. Cash via mail is not recommended by the club.

Any player that has outstanding fees cannot play until the full amount has been paid.

What your fees will cover
Affiliation to Baseball WA and Baseball Australia.
  • Insurance (Baseball Australia Fee)
  • Uniform top - provided by the club
  • WA Umpire association fee
  • Ground hire fee to the City of Gosnells
  • Club and ground equipment
  • Membership fee to the Tom Bateman Sporting Association

All functions are not included as they are considered as fundraisers.
